An extension to the Medicare Outpatient Therapy Cap has been passed and will remain in effect for the very short term until April 1. This also affects any claims since January 1, 2010 when the cap went into effect. Medicare and Medicaid will pay all claims form January 1 through March 31, thanks to this legislation.

We are excited to share this news and see it as a very positive sign that Congress has heard our collective voice and understands the need to find a longer-term solution.  We urge you to contact your legislators asking for this. The AOTA Legislative Action Center makes it easy to contact lawmakers with letter templates and talking points.

Thanksgiving is the time to reflect upon the blessings in our lives. At Preferred, we are thankful for all our wonderful rehab therapists, our fantastic clients and the ability to be able to provide excellent patient care each day. 

At the Preferred office, we held our Thanksgiving potluck lunch and discussed all things for which we are personally thankful. While this year has not been easy for many, it makes us even more grateful for the things in our lives that really do matter: family, friends and good health. As we enter the holiday shopping season, let us remember that these most precious things cannot be bought in a store. Take the time to tell the special people in your life how much you love them and give thanks that you are able to share your blessings.
