FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can you tell me about your company and how you work?

Preferred Healthcare is an international company with offices in both Canada and the US. We are a contingency based placement company which means we are not affiliated with any particular hospitals or companies in the US, and are free to find jobs in any state or town.  Consequently, we are able to offer you a choice of job opportunities in various communities and hospitals.

Is there any fee for your services?

Our services are free to the job seeker; the hospitals pay us a placement fee once you have accepted their position.

What do I need to do?

Our recruiters are a valuable resource for you.  However, good communication is critical!  In order for us to understand you and your particular needs, we’ll need to speak openly with one another and you’ll need to be honest about what your limitations, strengths and expectations are.  We will be dedicated to finding you the position you are looking for.  We only ask that you let us know if your needs or situation changes during the job search.

Where are your jobs located?  Am I limited to any particular area?

We can look for a position in any area or any size of hospital you wish – large or small.

Can you help me find housing?

This is one of our specialties!  We will be glad to provide you with local information on housing, your new community, cost of living, local schools-what ever information you need to make a decision.

What types of jobs are available?

The majority of positions are in hospitals.  Opportunities exist at both the staff and managerial level in all areas.

What types of salaries are offered?

Salaries vary based on your experience and the cost of living in a particular geographic area.  The majority of hospitals are also offering relocation and/or sign-on bonuses.  What ever the case, your Recruitment Specialist will negotiate for you the highest possible compensation and benefit package.

How long will this take?

Securing a position can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, based on your position and geographic area of interest.  Obtaining a  license can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks, depending on the state.  So, count on the relocation process taking anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months from start to finish.

How do I begin this process?

Please call or email our office and speak with one of our Recruitment Specialists.  We will need a current resume and two references to present to our client hospitals.
